IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Did that get all your attention? Hopefully so :) Its Monday night and i'm just quickly postin some info about next weekend. It was fun last Friday night, and hopefully we can keep the fun going in our group :)


This Friday we will be having an awesome meeting. We have the talented Liisa and band leading us in worship and then we have a guest speaker (Marko Selkomaa) from Thunder Bay speaking. Marko is a super talented speaker with a true heart for God and I hope that EVERYONE of you guys especially tries to make it out to hear his message...

We also have on Saturday the CAMP REUNION happening. That will be a fun night with good stuff happening and good stuff to munch on after. So remember to commit to spending next Friday and Saturday night at the Church. You won't regret it :)

Cans. Bottles. AND Rotten Juice!

For all of us out here from youth.. we gotta start sorting out all those bottles that the Alhgrens have at their house! SO I say we set a date and time to sort them out. Please blog back and let me know if you are available some time in this week or next week.. we don't want it to smell to much! I say we do it this weekend if possible and go see "the Departed" after... but it's just a suggestion!-Liisa

Fun Fun Times at Metrotown!!

YAy for the fun Metrotown scavenger hunt! Good job planning it Emma and Nick, you sure got my team stumped on some of them... like the "Define your self with a fragrance..." yeah that one was smart! ooh good times. well SO I took some pics this Friday, and I'll post them up in a sec BUT BUT BUT first! You guys need to listen to this::::::::::: This Friday, if you do not know, we are having youth at the church. Worship practice at 6pm as usual, and then at 7:30 youth is going to begin. AND this time, we're carving pumpkins and having a costume contest (with a PRIZE) after we do some worship and Miika speaks a little! (Thats right guys, there's a prize) You guys all dress up now! I don't want to be the only one looking like a goof on stage singing. ;). All righty, thats basically it! Enjoy the pics! God Bless, Liisa

Pumpkins

Hey guys

So it is October, and that usually means a dress-up night and pumpkin carvin contest. We as Christian youth want to distance ourselves completely from any kind of pagan traditions. So we will just meet on Friday (7:30) and have some sweet worship session, I'm gonna speak a little and then we are gonna just hang out, eat, laugh and have fun together :)

I'm hopin that you all will bring your own pumpkins, big or small does not matter. We will be downstairs, and as far as I remember, we DO have knives and stuff for carving.

ps. It would be awesome if everyone could bring something to munch on. Just so Nick could get a break once in a while, and it would be even greater if everyone posted what they were bringin, so we could have some variety :)

So its Saturday evening, I got a ton of pics from Elissa (thanks Elissa :) and I decided to post some funny ones. Hopefully you guys think they are fun and so on. If anyone does not want to be on the post, let me know. I can take it out.
So yeah, thats about it for now. Tomorrow is Church and hopefully all you guys can make it out :)
I'll write back in the week, but remember that next week we are meeting at Mcdonald's in Metrotown for a scavenger hunt planned by some of our youth. So lets all make our schedules work as not to miss it :)

Hey guys

So this Friday we will be having our first Worship and Prayer evening. We've been talkin about it for weeks, and finally we'll have it Friday. I encourage all of you to come out and spend a night in prayer and fellowship in God. We'll have an open mike setup and those of you who feel like speaking can come up and speak whats on your mind. Lets all remember the coming night in our prayers and thoughts.

Big Changes :)

Hey guys

So its time to let you all in on a little secret :) Me and Marja are soon going to be blessed with the birth of our first Child :) We've been keepin it a secret for the last few months, and we are finally ready to let everyone know. So there it is, our baby will be born late March or early April, so we have almost 6 more months to go. But nonetheless, we are super excited and neither of us can hardly wait :)
We will continue doing youth work, and even though Marja will not always be attending, I will be committed 100% to youth work still, so there are no changes in that at all! I'll write about the coming Friday later in the week, so check back later in the week :)

Changin the plans...

Hey guys

So as all of you (who have given me some way of getting ahold of you) know. We will NOT be going to the Qwuanoes meeting tonight. It seemed that pretty much all of the youth, were unanimous in there intent on missing this one. So we will have a week of nothing. Its unfortunate that this worked out like this, but the good in it is that the communication lines are working amongst us :)
By the way, I am gonna have to get all of your contact info, it was a struggle to go through my book and cross off each youth that I knew 100% had heard of the cancellation. And if there are any youth who have not heard, and are gonna wonder why our Group did not show up! I apologize whole-heartedly. We are getting more organized every day, and getting ALL of your contacts is vital.

ps. I was called by Lauri Karhinen, he asked for the youth(who volunteered) to try to show up before 11:00 a.m. There is the chairs and tables to organize, so i'll be there early, and hopefully you will also :)

looky here at these two young hooligans! hey everyone! I'm wondering if anyone has ideas for youth band names?? we've been the "youth band" forever, and i think we should change it up a little.. post what you think would be good alrighty?

So as you most likely remember, we WILL be going to the Qwuanoes meeting this comin Friday. Its in Surrey, 186th and 64th is the crossroads and its at Cloverdale Baptist Church at 6:30pm. I'm posting the link again so you guys know where to find it. Check it out and see what we are in store for. It looks like a fun event and we should strive to all come out and represent our Church as a Youth Group.
