Upcomin stuff

Hey guys So its Sunday afternoon, and I thought I would write something in the Blog. I have a few things to talk about, and i'll post them in a list.
1. Next week is open as to doing something different. I called the Tuokollas, and it works for them to come to youth on Friday,April 27th of this month. They will have some slides and a message for us, so bookmark the date and come out to hear about missions in Africa :) So once again, that leaves next week open for us. I'm gonna leave it up to you guys to mention something that we can do. I'll give a few days time to you, but if I get no ideas. Then I will plan out youth myself, and inform later on in the week :)
2. Remember to send Emma a pic or 2 that you treasure. Her project sounds pretty cool, and it will be nice to see the finished result :)

3. I had a great time with you guys on Friday. It was a special night, and I drove home with a grateful heart over it. I feel so blessed that I get to hang out with you all on Fridays. God has great plans for our youth as a group, and also for each of us as individuals :)

God bless all of you and remember to devote some alone time to God this week. He created you and wants to know you deeply!!!
-Miika-
ps. I posted one pic of the youth night, but if someone sends me a pic of the sofapile, I will post it right away :)

ummmm. i;m racking my brain and not too many ideas are surfacing....hmmmm
maybe a sports night? as in playing sports, not watching them...the next question would be where to play???
or....we could do an outreach night? hand out some sandwiches?
or...have an evangelical night. invite friends out for a night of music and fun....
any thoughts anyone?

I really feel we should spend some time in prayer and worship, with everything that's been happening that we all know of, and even what hasn't been put out in the open to be prayed over. God can work miracles through the power of prayer.

i like sports. while i do think we should all get together one night to watch a hockey game (maybe in the next round,) a hockey playing night would be fun. we could play it in the church parking lot, or then the road in front of someone's house. (hint hint)

We should play volleyball, Sam asked his mom if we could use the gym at the school she works at but unfortunately its booked. But we can go to Cresent Beach possibly beacuse they have a volleyball net. What do you guys think?

Wouldn't it be too dark though? Right now it's just past 7 and the sun is setting.

hello!
a few people think we should really have a prayer night. it would be a really good idea with everything going on, just like Nina said. we could do sports next week.

actually it would be the week after that week (3 weeks in time), and the sun would be setting later, more time for play time:P

I think sports sounds like fun or even the beach volleyball!!! we could go to a park or something to play some sports and just have some fun!!!

prayer, please. sports can wait - praying can't.

if we do the prayer night, and if worship is happening, dancing generation is an awesome song, hint hint;)

Anonymous said...

yeah but we haven't done anything really active yet.

Personally, i think that some kind of sports could be good. We can pray together, but the most powerful prayer is the prayer which is done in private with just you and God!!! Nice responses on the ideas though. I'll post in a few days :)

we'll have some worship and prayer and then go outside and play some games

I believe that it's important to also pray in groups. I have never felt prayer as powerful as when others intercede for me by the Holy Spirit. In fact, that's how i was filled by the Spirit.
Matthew 18:19-20
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for [in prayer], it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
when's it starting... at 7? or 7.30???

I'm in. But I'll be working in Coquitlam till late so I'll take the bus to church if I get done in time. Then Jenni can you take me home?

i sure can

THANK YOU Jenni. That's exactly how I feel and what I want to do. It's not very often we pray in groups, we can play sports any day. And I agree, I've never felt prayer and assurance stronger than when I've prayed with someone, or have been prayed over. I just really feel a need to have a prayer and worship night asap. (Or more like asatf - as soon as this friday).

PS- Funny thing Jenni, the scripture you posted was just the one I read last night.

I think what Jenni meant was that it is important to pray in groups as well as by yourself with God,
but that we should do both sports and prayer/worship.

I think playing some games and then going inside for prayer would be fun...or even the other way around.

yeah since some people want sports and some want prayer i think it is a good idea we go outside first when its still light out and play some games and then go inside after and have the worship and prayer!
