Hey guys
Looks like the rock climbin is gonna be a no-go for this week. So, instead I think we will NOT HAVE YOUTH THIS WEEK. I know its late notice, but i'm so incredibly busy these days, that I just didnt have time to arrange waivers, count youth and arrange reservations. We will do it soon enough, but this week it wont work.
Now we could still go out and eat tomorrow night, but lets see what everyone says? Maybe Boston Pizza? Or something along those lines.
Anyways, hopefully most of you can make it out on Sat morning.
God bless
-Miika-
ps. The newspaper articles are as follows.
a.) A bunch of personal testimonies + pic (if stuck, you can answer these questions 1. what are your Finnish roots (if any) 2. Why do you believe in God 3. What are youth nights and summer camp like. Hopefully this will help out a little :)
pps. The testimonies should be fairly short, maybe 50 words or so.

NO YOUTH!!! why? Miika, this is not fun.
???
i sneezed :P
Well, there are a few reasons. The first one is that tomorrow I (Tim, Niko, Daren) have a ridiculous day of work ahead of us. The other one is that cause of the waivers and the uncertainty of who is comin out, rockclimbing would be to tough to organize.
I will do a better job of organizing it when we go, I've never went though, and only a few youth have commented on there participation in it anyways.
Sorry, I am under immense building deadlines, and I have to take everything into account.
God bless
-Miika-
well even though you were busy you had since last friday to book to go rock climbing and there should be no reason not to have youth.
well c'mon we've all been undecided for so long that trying to get it all organized before tomorrow would be tough. I'm sure he has other things to think about all day, every day, besides being our youth leader... Planning a thing like this takes time. Give him some credit. He said we'll do it one day.
well usually every friday should already be planned ahead of time and not the day before. Miika has been good but it gets frustrating at times when we don't know what we are doing until the day before.
i think it keeps youth exciting ;)
we could meet at the gym (those who want to go), people who want to go must fill out a waiver form which you can get online and get their parents to sign it... and just go, hang out at the wendy's after...? we can try to see if we can do a drop in night and get staff there to belay us..., jarno, danica, marissa, and myself know how to belay but we don't want to be doing it all night for people when we buy our own drop in... if we could get 2-3 staff to help us do a drop in, that would be awesome.. but on Friday nights, it probably is a long shot, knowing how busy this place is.
or we could go to Ikea?
it would be nice to have youth.
we have to keep in mind that miika is not a full time youth pastor.i myself am not paid to do worship and find it immensely difficult to do worship every Sunday morning and Fridays when i have a huge school and work load, not to mention family time. let's make this a hang out night, even if it's at someone's house...

Have a nice day everyone :)
so we either need youth to take up some responsibility in organizing events. or we need to hire a full-time youth pastor.
Jenni
either way, from now on youth stuff should be desided earlier in the week, 'stead of cancelled last min. miika, if you work Niko so hard he doesn't come home tonight, DONT BLAME ME if i'm not there saturday.
Good-day!!
Hi all young people. First let you know that you are very important part of the gongregation. We older people love you very much.
Now, about the West Coast News Kotikirkko page. The idea is to publish a full page testimony by YOU Bethel's young people. Let the readers find out what is it like for a young people to believe in Jesus on these days.
And at the same time advertise our coming summer camp at Loon Lake.
So, the heading is going to be: LIFE IS NOT A TEST DRIVE. Elämä ei ole mikään koeajo.. both languages. Then a few words about how time runs and how YOU todays young people live this life... something like that. I will take a good picture, some boys with a car... not test drive.. you know. And also I want a picture of every writer or group picture.
I expect that you answer three questions:
1. What part of Finland are you or your parents coming from. And how do you like Canada?
2. How did you get to know Jesus and what is your experience with Him today?
3. What is it like to belong to the young people operations at Kotikirkko. Perhaps something of your future plans.
Feel free to write what is in your mind and heart.
Those who can write in Finnish please do so.. I can correct words if needed. Perhaps seven or eight will write in English.
I think we could put about 10 testimonies in one page with pictures.
This is your outreach. The paper reaches lot of Finnish origin folks. So take this seriously. It is God's work for those who do not know Christ.
If we could get this ready in few weeks (April 20) it will be on May paper. If it takes longer then in Jume paper.
I know you are very busy but young people can do wonders when they so decide.
Please, send you text and picture to me leevimyyra@telus.net
So, all the best and God be with you!

I sort of promised to write my testimony in finnish...it would be nice if at least one other person did as well. Ruth? haha
Nina
Very good Nina
Just to remind that it is easy to answer a few questions. But it is very special message to the people who don't know the Lord.
So, read the instructions and go for it.. in Finnish or in English.
Via con Dios... go with Lord!
Leevi
Hellow to you Beth el's youth.
What a day it was on Saturday. Thanks to you and God for that day!
This is the week when those testimonies should be ready. Just answer these questions:
1. What part of Finland I or my parents came from. And how do I like this country.
2. How I met with God and got saved. This is the heart of the testimony.
3. What are we doing at our Kotikirkko youth group.
The title of this full page presentation will be LIFE IS NOT A TEST DRIVE. Means that we have just one life and what we want to do with it.
Finnish or English, please.
E-mail to leevimyyra@telus.net by Friday with a picture (not necessary)
Thanks.. Leevi
Hi everybody.. mean you young testimony writers
Time is running out for May issue. If you would send your testimony during this weekend we still could be in time. Monday 21 everything should be ready.
So, please do your best!
Leevi
Send your testimony to leevimyyra@telus.net with or without picture
Hellow dear Young people.
I am very happy to tell you that I have reveived three testimonies already. Very good!
But please, send me at least two more. Don't wait too long because it will take some time to make the page ready for the June paper.
So, take a little time and tell others about yourself. Where are you from, how you met Jesus and what is it like to be a youngster at Kotikirkko etc. With picture or without it. Send it leevimyyra@telus.net Thanks
Yours truly
Leevi
Hi Young people
The 'Test Drive' testimony page on West Coast News is published.. even in color. So, thanks to all writers: Nina, Danica, Jenni and Ruth. There is no individual pictures (no room) but a great shot of all of you and one photo of three boys around their red car.
All in all, this was your own testimony of faith and also your group at Kotikirkko.
Keijo Sakara was a key person to make so nice page. Excellent job, Thanks Keijo!
God be with you all and have a wonderful summer! Meet you all at picnic Sunday June 15. 1 pm. at Deas Island
Leevi
