Summertime

Hi

I figured I was sick of seein the same page on our blog. So even though I don't have a whole lot to announce, I figure I can say a few things.

1. Remember this summer to give God time, just cause you are on vacation from School doesnt mean that you are on vacation from strengthening your faith. So I encourage you to pick up your Bibles, spend some time in prayer and to dwell on God and ask Him to search your heart :)

2. How has everyones summers been? I asked in the last post for some discussion over what you guys were expecting! I dont think there were any expectations besides summercamp. Camp is cool, but your vacations sound pretty boring when it is the only thing to look forward to :)

So yeah, thats about it. Have a great safe summer and remember to give God time. I think we will have to arrange some kind of meeting here fairly soon. I heard the lake outing was fun, so maybe something along those lines again.

God bless and be safe

Just to give an example about what I meant for summer expectations.

We enjoyed Finland, the weather sucked but the people were are wonderful and ihana as we remembered :) I'm now lookin forward to doing some fishing, golfing and reno's for the remainder of the summer.

There, that is what I meant

I have been living at Ahlgren's the past few weeks while they've been away, and it's very fun being here since there's a lot of ice cream and Froot Loops. And a bigger bed than my twin sized one at home. My fruit trees really like it here too cuz they have lots of space in the sun. I recently had success with a passion fruit seedling and it's now growing it's 4th leaf. Either on Saturday or Sunday Elissa and I will be going to visit our cousins in Victoria. We'll stay about a week, playing tourist downtown. That's about it for now.

btw I need to go shopping for more pants/shorts/capris. I may do that at Mayfair Mall in Victoria

Way to go Jessica :) Sounds great, I was annoyed to come home from my trip to see my herbs and vegetables all fried from to much sun and NO water :(
Hopefully your fruit trees grow and you start to see fruit in your life :) Kinda like Salavation eh? Start as a little seed and grow with lots of sun/God, water/Bible and care/prayer. In both cases it takes time...

God bless

Well this is sad it's been 5 days, I guess no one has been checking the blog. Well in case anyone does I thought I'd put it out there that I'm "officially" moving/leaving on the 16th...two weeks :( The summer went by too fast!

My 5 weeks in Finland was fantastic! Unlike Miika, I experienced excellent, warm, sunny weather in Finland when I was there. I just got back last night. I enjoyed playing tourist in Helsinki and meeting up with family and friends I hadn't seen in ages. Maija says hi to everyone, by the way. I've done quite a bit of summer reading too, for once. I think I've read something like 5 novels. Some Jane Austen, Anne and Emily Bronte, and good ol' Oscar Wilde. It sucked being without tv and music for pretty much the entire time there (though when I got tv I only watched Little House on the Prairie and a German show). I bought tons of music from Finland though (except it's not finnish music, haha). For 99 cents each for a Johnny Cash cd and 2 disc french cafe music cd, and a 4.99 Euro Edith Piaf 3 disc and 1 dvd collection, you can't go wrong.

This morning and last night on the plane I've suddenly had a burst of joy and energy...I feel so happy, but why did it suddenly come upon me? Haha, on the plane I couldn't help but laugh and smile...I was just so happy! People probably thought it was strange...HA. But it came with good timing, I don't feel any jet lag.

Anyways, I'm also stoked for my 10 days in Thunder Bay at the end of the month! And though it's sad to see Ruth move, I at least don't have to wait long to see her there. I'm anticipating good things from youth rally as well =)
and I'm curiously actually looking forward to this school year. Probably because it'll be my last. Yay!
