plans and prayer

This Friday the YouthWithAMission (YWAM) team from Finland (they are staying at our church and participating in the Olympics outreach) is going to Miika's and Marja's house to watch the opening ceremonies. We thought that it would be nice, if the youth group could join in and share the joy together!

So here is the plan for this Friday:

• starting at 6pm Youth Group with the YWAM team at Miika's place.
• if you need directions call Miika 778-855-2751
• bring some snacks with you!

Sunday Valentine's day service

10.30 English congregation set-up

11-11:30 'sweet time' together - bring cookies/cakes etc. to share with the whole church

11.30 English Worship Service with the YWAM team!

Here is a prayer to keep our hearts in tune with God during the hubris of Olympics...

I asked God for strength that I might achieve. I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked God for health that I might do greater things. I was given infirmity that I might do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy. I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I asked for power that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. I was given life that I might enjoy all things.

I got nothing I asked for but everything I had hoped for....

Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered. I am among all men most richly blessed.
