Longing with Hope

I wonder how God would want us to respond to all the 'convulsions' in creation that we have experienced lately? We don't know what is the ultimate cause of all the shakings (at least 4 major earthquakes in few months) and volcano eruptions, but I believe we need to be asking what message it all is sending to us... At least a good reminder that even we modern, technological, advanced, civilized human beings are not in ultimate control. A healthy humbling experience. Also, should make us ponder what all this 'groaning' of creation is all about. Are these part of the signs of the longing of the old for new creation?

For the creation waits with eager longing

for the revealing of the sons of God.

For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly,

but because of him who subjected it,

in hope that the creation itself will be set free

from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom

of the glory of the children of God.

For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.

And not only the creation, but we ourselves,

who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly

as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons,

the redemption of our bodies.

For in this hope we were saved. (Rom 8:19-24)
