Let's Take a Hike

Hi people,

Man last week was a good week. We had an awesome time last Friday at Nina's place spent in prayer, worship, and conversation.. I really felt that God was there and His Holy Spirit was moving, it's fantastic to share these moments with you guys and to know that God is real and always present in our lives. Also our church picnic was fun, we had a lot of people come out and thanks for all you who could make it!

So this week it looks like it's going to be a warm one, today has been simply beautiful so far and I am looking forward to the rest of the week. So I thought we could enjoy God's creation and go for a hike on Saturday July 10th and pack some food with us and eat together as well. What do you guys think? Who's up for it? I was thinking either the Alouette Lake area in Maple Ridge or then North Vancouver Deep Cove area? Any other places you guys would like to check out? Let me know what you guys think and who can make it.

Also Sunday we have our communion meal together at 11:00am, so come on out for that. Niko will be sharing a message so come and show your support. =)

Oh yeah before I forget, we are planning on doing a fund raiser for kid's camp on July 24th. We are going to do a car wash and hot dog BBQ. Also we will have a baked goods sale at the same time. So mark it off on your calendars and come on out to help. Also if you want to help in the preps let me know.

As for Kid's Summer Camp if you know your schedule and want to be a counselor let me know ASAP. It's happening from August 22nd to 27th.

Enjoy the sunshine,
Jarno and Liisa

Not sure about the hike...I have chemo the day before, and if I don't take it easy afterwards, I get really tired.
What time is the fundraiser? Afternoon or evening? Jess and I leave for Toronto that night!

I might be able to do the hike!

That's very understandable Elissa. The fundraiser would probably start in the morning sometime and go into the afternoon time most likely.. we haven't really set an official time frame yet but that is what I'm thinking.

How does lighthouse park sound to you guys? There are plenty of hiking trails there and there are beautiful spots along the ocean to stop at have some lunch and hang out at. I know not everyone is hardcore hikers, including me cause my knee is wrecked from snowboarding, but it looks like you can kind of make your own desired length of hike here... plus it's beautiful, Liisa and I love going here. So what do you guys think? Also if we meet there like 9:30ish a.m.? Anybody need a ride or want to carpool? Thoughts?

I would love to come!

And you're still at Miika's right? I could hop in your ride!

Actually we moved to Liisa's sister's place on Cambie and 22nd now. But we could meet at the church and go from there.

I won't be able to make it on the hike on Saturday but I am pretty sure I can help out with the fundraiser!

OK, so who's all wanting to come on the hike and do you know how you are getting there? Bring something to eat for lunch and remember to bring water too. It's pretty hot out. Don't forget to post your names when you write.;)
