Vappu Connected Night

Hi everyone,

So Easter long weekend has come and gone, and I hope everyone had a good Easter. It's such a wonderful time for us to celebrate our redemption through Jesus' work on the cross. Praise be to God!

So this Friday we have our Vappu themed Connected Night. It will be at the church in the downstairs starting @ 7:00pm. Vappu is a Finnish Spring time festival that takes place yearly around this time. There will be food to eat, games to play, and fun times hanging out with people. So come on out! Also there will be a kid's program that we are always looking for volunteers to help out with.

Then on Sunday we are having our Communion Meal at the church for 11:15am. So see you there also.

Easter Week

Hello guys and gals,

So this week we are approaching Easter weekend... and what a wonderful celebration Easter is to us! We celebrate in the fact the God reached out to us to show mercy and grace in a whole new way through His son Jesus. That through Him we would not have to suffer the punishment for our sins, but rather we could clothe ourselves in the righteousness of Jesus. Just stop right where you are and think about that for a minute. That Jesus took our wrongdoings from the past, present, and future upon Himself and suffered the punishment we should endure, and then gives us the righteousness that belongs to Him in all his holiness and purity. What an exchange! WOW!!

UPDATE!!
So this weekend is really busy with all the Easter services going on and all that we are only going to have a kind of chill night where we just get together to watch Passion of the Christ. So how does Saturday evening at Daniel and Jenni's place sound, that would be April 23rd? Also does anyone have a copy of Passion of the Christ that we could watch?

Weekend Schedule:

Good Friday service at 11:15am in the main Sanctuary.

Resurrection Sunday morning service @ 11:15am in the Fellowship Hall. Jyrki Haukka is our guest speaker, so come on out.

Also check out the link. A very inspiring insight into a movie in theatres right now called Soul Surfer. We should go as a group to watch it sometime soon. It's amazing what God does in our lives!

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Hi all,

Friday:
I know this is a later post than usual and I'm sorry. Just trying to figure out where to have our meeting this week, and we are just going to have it our place again. Hope it works with everyone and that you can make it out tomorrow, Friday, for around 7:30pm. We'll take a look at God's word, discuss it, and then take some time to pray together, and of course hang out and have a good time with each other. Bring something good to snack on or drink if you can.

Saturday:
We are having a seminar at our church on sharing your faith. The seminar will start at 12:00pm and end at 3:00pm. There will be lunch served at the church. There is also a "work bee" happening that morning at the church so come a bit early and help out with something around the building. The work bee starts at 9:00am.

Sunday:
Morning service is at our usual time of 11:15am. See you there.

PS: Niko is leaving to Finland for a couple of weeks, so let's send him off with a good kick.

Friday is Coming

Hello,

So another week has gone by and another week has begun. It literally feels like a week is just a few days and then we're in the next week already. Time is just flying by scary fast!! Is there anybody else who feels like this other than me? Natalia is learning new things every week it feels like... she just started jumping in the Jolly Jumper and man she loves it, it's so cute.

So this Friday I was thinking it would be great to start off with a prayer walk in the neighborhood around the church. If we could meet up at the church close to 7:00pm and then spend 30-45min. walking around the neighborhood blessing and praying for it. Then after that we could go over to our house for some eats and drinks and hang out. How does that sound, are you able to make it that early for the walk or should we start at 7:30pm? Thoughts and feedback would be great!!

Also on April 16th we are having an evangelism seminar at our church starting at 11:00am and goes until 3:00pm with a lunch break. So far there will be no CCG Young Adults that Friday because of these back to back events to help encourage everyone to make it out Saturday. So mark that down of your calendars. We will keep you updated.

This Sunday morning our service starts at 11:15am so come on out to hear the word and worship our Lord Jesus together.
