Upcoming Days Are Coming

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. So we are closing in on the end of July... already, and before we know it camp will be starting. So let's take a look at what our plans look like for the next 2 weeks.

This weekend is FinnWest at the Scandinavian Centre, and there is lots going on there. So we won't be having a Young Adults meeting this weekend. But if you get a chance head out to FinnWest and meet some people and check out what is going on. Then next week we are looking at doing a fundraiser car wash for Kid's Summer Camp. The funds that we get from this will go towards sponsoring kid's for camp and in general helping with the costs of camp. So this will be happening on Saturday, August 6th, at the church around 11:00am... let's hope that the weather cooperates!

We will be having our 19Twenty meeting on Sunday morning at 11:15am, so come out for that as well.

So keep kid's camp in your prayers and if you haven't let me know yet that you can come and be a counselor, do that. =)

Who is the champion?

Hi everyone,

So we just got back from out vacation last night and it really feels nice to come home! We had a sweet time at my parents' place... saunaing and swimming everyday and just kicking back and taking it easy. Most of the days were really hot... we had one day of 38-40 degrees, it was a scorcher and man did it feel good to jump in the lake.

So anyways we thought we would have you guys all over at our place this Friday night for 7:30pm. I was thinking since the weather here hasn't been that good outside we could have a Kinect Sports Championship "playoffs" type of thing... and there would be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. What do you guys think? If you are interested sign up in the comments section, it'll be fun! Also bring something to munch on for everyone if you can. It'll be a fun night together, hope to see you all here.

Also this Sunday service at the church is @ 11:15am like always, and we have one of our former pastors Herman Blomerus visiting us, so come on out.

Movie night

Hey! Hope you guys are all doing well.

I was looking into planning a hike this week, but not quite enough people were interested. The weather looks kinda crummy anyways, so I'm thinking we could have a movie night, at my house. Anybody want to watch Hobo with a Shotgun? =P

I'm kidding. But I haven't seen the Kings Speech yet, and there are quite a few newer releases that sound good.

Also - I'd hate to confuse people by deviating from our usual Friday time, but when I was talking to people about the hike, it sounded like Saturday was better. So, unless anybody strongly protests, we'll meet on Saturday, at my house, around 7:30.

A quiet week

Hey! Hope you guys are all enjoying your summer! It was nice to see some of you at the picnic on Sunday.

Quite a few people are gone this week, Niko and Nina to Finland, and Jarno and Liisa to Thunder bay. This leaves me to figure out what we're going to do! I'm thinking we can gather at my place, and have a pretty relaxed evening hanging out. I'd suggest bringing a swimsuit if you want to swim. I won't heat the sauna up unless a few people express interest, though.
