Long Weekend

Just wanted to check who is around for this Friday???
Any suggestions for a hang out?

Sunday is the English Worship Service 11-1pm
Communion meal is not now, but NEXT Sunday August 9th.

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving thanks.

1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his [a] ;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Blessings,
samuel

sizzling summer

Vancouver summer has surprised us!
It is seriously warm here, especially when living in an upstairs apartment...

But hey no complaints, we are enjoying it as we can.
This is a beautiful world and we want to receive it and care for it as a gift.
"The Earth is the Lords and the fulness thereof"

This Friday NO Youth Evening
Next Friday we try to plan something,
any suggestions... (movie night: Prince Caspian?, BBQ? ???)

Bethel Youth on Wheels

Looks like most people are ready for go-karting this Friday!

The plan:
Meet 6pm at TBC indoor racing; 2100 Viceroy place, Richmond;
p.604-232-9196
(http://www.tbcir.ca/tbc_flash.html)
Do 2-3 races (31$ for 2 races; 40$ for 3). How many do you want?
After the race we go to Tim's house for pizza
and sending off party for our bro's!

I called the place in Richmond today and they recommended we make a time reservation, because Friday evenings are busy... This means that I would need an accurate head count latest Thursday 1pm (preferably already tomorrow). I need to pay before hand and no refunds.
But if it looks like getting a head count is impossible, we just walk in and prepare to wait 20min -1 hour before getting on.

Godspeed,
Samuel

Shema & summer plans

I have just started my Hebrew studies this week.
I fell in love with the language right away!
We started to practice the "shema" in Hebrew.
It is the confession of faith in the one and only living God and its implications:

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your strength.
These commandments that I give you today
are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. (Deut.6:4-7)

This Friday there is NO YOUTH EVENING

Sunday 11-2pm English Service: Communion meal!

on the 10th or 17th Friday we were planning to do something special to send our brothers Tim and Nico to Finland with our blessings and encouragement. The plan is to go CARTING (somewhere in Richmond)!
So let me know which date works best and who is in!
After the adrenalin rush we could go eat together and celebrate our brothers' entry to the 'promised land'.
